Apprentice Program

The Apprentice Program is for those who desire to serve Brainerd and explore God's call on their life. If you desire to grow as a leader in the church, this is the track for you.

Purpose

At Brainerd, we believe the best place to prepare to serve in the local church is the local church. While God calls men and women to ministry, we believe He entrusts the local church to affirm, equip, and empower those called to His service.

Roles

The Apprentice Program is open to adults of all ages. Men and women who have completed their freshman year of college to retirees can find biblically appropriate opportunities to lead. If you are a committed follower of Christ desiring to serve Brainerd and explore God’s call on your life, you are a candidate for Brainerd’s Apprentice Program!

Apprentice

Apprentices are paired with ministry leaders to receive significant ministry responsibility as they lead out in their area of ministry. Apprentices receive greater exposure to a wide variety of ministry and mentorship from their ministry leader. Apprentices serve for one year beginning in August or January. Those wishing to become an Apprentice must serve for one year prior to being considered for this role.

Brainerd Fellow

A Brainerd Fellow is a follower of Christ who feels a clear sense of calling to Christian ministry and seeks to apply that calling at Brainerd Baptist Church by walking alongside one of our pastors. Candidates who have not already completed a master’s level seminary degree will be required to pursue theological education through the Seminary Track.  A Brainerd Fellow may serve for one or two semesters.  He/she should expect to spend a minimum of 25 hours per week in ministry at Brainerd and will be asked to raise funds (as needed) to participate in this program.
