Purpose

We are excited to partner with Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Wake Forest, NC) to provide accredited seminary education through The Brainerd Institute. This partnership allows students to earn a Master of Arts degree or Master of Divinity degree or audit classes to deepen his or her understanding of God’s Word.

The aim of these courses focuses on theological development, spiritual formation, and ministry leadership. These classes are ideal for aspiring or current ministry leaders, missionaries, church planters, and for those who desire to deepen their knowledge of God and His Word. Degrees

The Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry is an 81 hour program designed to prepare pastors, missionaries and other Christian workers for a life of effective Kingdom service. Students receive academic and practical training in areas such as Biblical Studies, church history, missions, theology and applied ministry. The Christian Ministry emphasis provides a large number of elective hours and is designed to afford students flexibility in their degree program.

The Master of Arts in Christian Ministry is a 49 hour degree designed to equip students to serve on the staff of a local church or another ministry organization in non-senior pastoral roles. It is comprised of the vocational MA Core plus 12 hours of EQUIP selectives. All remaining hours may be taken in the format of the student’s choosing, including online. 

What to expect:

  • Participation:

    • Classes meet between 1-3 hours a week. 

    • Miss no more than three classes (unless approved by Course Instructor)

    • Complete all assignments by due dates (unless given permission by the Course Instructor).

    • Engage with professors and other like-minded students in occasional weekend enrichment opportunities.

  • Cost:

  • Fellowship with Brainerd Lead Team members

    • This fellowship time is a key component of the Seminary Track which provides for all students participating in seminary classes to meet with our church’s Lead Team members and available teaching professors to ask questions about their classes and consider the practical applications of what they are studying in their classes applies in the local church context.
